Welcome to An Outdoor Experience: A field guide to slow, simple, and soulful living inspired by the seasons.

I write to support the women (+ men) who dream of forging their own path, the women seeking balance + connection, + the women who crave a different pace in our frantic modern world, a pace that feels rebelliously slow!

This is exactly how I felt before I quit my corporate engineering job in Florida and moved to a semi off-grid cabin in the remote wilderness of northern Minnesota. It was the most terrifying change I've ever created for myself but I gained two life-changing things when I decided to leave my life in the south: perspective and empowerment.

And that's what An Outdoor Experience is meant to be for you - a source of perspective in our distracted society and a friendly dose of confidence-boosting support.

An Outdoor Experience is NOT another millennial blog suggesting you ditch your 9 to 5 and live in a van (or move to the woods)!

An Outdoor Experience IS a blog about the fullness of a life lived in tune with the rhythms of nature and the many ways the seasons can focus our goals and empower us to achieve our biggest dreams!

There are lots of general cures for cabin fever out there. This post is not one of them! This post offers 7 specific and actionable cures for cabin fever!

Having a hard time getting outdoors during the winter months? I've put together a list of all the ways I get outside even during the coldest months!

+ seasonal picks

You'll notice AOE is organized by season. WHY?

Close your eyes for me. Pretend it's January 1st. You've planned out allllll your goals, dreams, + events for the rest of the year. You've got your resolutions set. How do you feel? A little overwhelmed? Maybe unsure?

That's how I always felt too.

If there's one thing I've learned from living intimately with (+ at the mercy of) the seasons, it's that there's an alternative mindset to that traditional 12 month approach..

A mindset broken into fourths - autumn, winter, spring, and summer.

A season to let go, a season to recharge, a season to create, + a season to expand!

Mother Nature is offering us a free guide to balanced living. When we start tuning our lives to the rhythms of nature we reconnect to our own natural rhythms - a formula for success and fulfillment!

Which is why, I blog to match the season!
